Go to iTunes menu and click on “Check for Updates.” Or, you can also download the latest firmware by visiting Apple website. Next, you should follow the instructions below to upgrade the firmware.
First, you have to backup all data you stored on the iPhone.
Second, get back the original settings of the iPhone. If you have installed unauthorized software or even jailbreak the iPhone, it would be better to let you know that the firmware update will not work properly. That’s why it’s important to restore the iPhone by connecting it to a computer, launch iTunes, and click on “Restore.”
Third, launch iTunes and there will appear a firmware upgrade on the display. There will be also a pop-up message when the program recognizes your iPhone. Next, you have to upgrade the firmware immediately.
Fourth, while the process of installing the firmware upgrade is running, you are not allowed using the iPhone for another function. You must wait until the process is completed.
Fifth, when the installation process finished, unplug the iPhone and it is safe to disconnect. Turn on the iPhone and tap on the “Settings.” Tap on “General” and “About” to see if the new version of the firmware has been upgraded. The version number and the latest date of the firmware will help you to indicate.
