Near Field Communication (NFC) technology will be added to the latest RIM product, Blackbery Dakota. NFC is used for mobile payments.
Dakota comes with touchscreen 2.8 inches, VGA 640X480 pixel and camera 5MP (with flash and HD video recording). It will also feature 4 GB of internal storage.
For connectivity, Dakota supports 3G mobile hotspot, WiFi, Bluetooth and USB, while its operating system gets Blackberry OS 6.1 support. It is predicted that RIM will release it the near future.
RIM expects the Blackberry Dakota would restore the company’s market share, which was eroded by the Android phone and iPhone. But, clearly it is not that easy if RIM will only rely on the Dakota.
